Environment

Local Landscape As the land is situated within the Pembrokeshire National Park every care is taken to quarry sympathetically within the environment and to restore the land to grazing after landscaping. Water run off during the process is captured in a series of settling ponds and then recycled and the sediment used in landfill.

The lowest pond is home to several species of water birds, invertebrates and bog plants. A small stream runs alongside the quarry and is joined by others flowing through the village of Moylegrove before it reaches the sea at Ceibwr Bay, one of North Pembrokeshire’s most scenic bays.

We take seriously our commitment to maintain and improve the land which we quarry and as each phase is completed, the land is filled and contoured, covered with top soil, reseeded and where appropriate re-hedged and then returned to its previous use of agriculture.
